COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican women's soccer junior midfielder Lindsay Buten (Cincinnati, Ohio) was named to the Academic All-District First Team selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday.
The 2019 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student athletes from their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Because of her selection, Buten advances to the Academic All-America ballot.
Buten maintains an impressive 3.91 grade point average working as an Intervention Specialist. The junior midfielder has started in all 17 contests this season, tallying two game-winning goals and one assist. She played a pivotal role on defense assisting in the Panthers seven shutouts this season.
Ohio Dominican women's soccer team finished the regular season with a 10-6-1 overall record and a 8-4-1 conference record. ODU begins its post-season journey in the G-MAC conference tournament on Saturday night against Trevecca. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Panther Stadium.
