COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team fell to Trevecca 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The game looked to be a tightly contested affair early on as the Panthers aimed to take control. Forwards Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) and Mari Silvestri (Solon, Ohio) helped the Panthers gain an early advantage in shots, tying for a team-high two shots apiece.
Both teams entered the halftime break scoreless.
Coming out of the intermission, the Panthers continued to challenge the Trojan defense but couldn't generate a quality opportunity. Trevecca broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when midfielder Johnna Raby scored off a corner kick inside of the penalty area.
ODU attempted to answer as forwards Kiyha Adkins (Troy, Ohio) and the aforementioned Myers nearly tied the game in the 72nd minute off a quality scoring opportunity.
The Panthers couldn't find the late equalizer as the Trevecca defense held on to claim the 1-0 victory.
It's a quick turnaround for ODU as it finishes the 2019 regular season against Cedarville on Tuesday, November 5, with kickoff scheduled at 7:30 p.m.
