Both Soccer Teams Honored By NSCAA For Academic Achivement

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Both the men's and women's soccer teams at Ohio Dominican were honored by the NSCAA by receiving the College Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.

There were a total of 863 collegiate soccer teams which received the team award including 280 men's teams and 583 women's teams. Of the 863 teams, 192 schools received the team award for both their men's and women's programs, which included ODU. To qualify for the award, a team had to record a combined grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2013-14 academic season.

The Panthers were the only GLIAC school to receive the award for both the men and women. On the women's side, joining ODU from the GLIAC was Ferris State, Malone, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, Northwood, and Walsh. On the men's side, the GLIAC was represented by ODU and Tiffin.

The women's team, recorded a team GPA of 3.63, while the men's team had a combined GPA of 3.39.
