Women's Soccer Wins Seventh Straight, Defeat Ferris State 1-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – On a cold autumn night, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team was able to stay hot, as they defeated Ferris State for the team's seventh consecutive victory.

With the win, ODU (12-3-1, 9-1-1 GLIAC) has tied their highest win total in a season since joining the NCAA Division II. The Panthers are now tied with Grand Valley State for the top spot in the GLIAC.

Before the match, Ferris State (6-9-2, 5-6-1 GLIAC) clinched a spot in the GLIAC tournament and now sits in the seventh position.

The Panthers are now just two wins shy of tying the all-time mark in school history for wins in a season, and just one win shy of tying the school mark for longest winning streak which was set in 2007, 2008, and 2011.

Senior Broegan Sautter (Bellville, OH) scored the lone goal of the match in the 33rd minute as she found the top left corner of the net from approximately 30 yards out. Both of Sautter's goals this season have come from long distance.

Sophomore Madison Baldwin (Zanesville, OH) recorded her second assist of the season as she had the pass to Sautter.

ODU held a 13-5 overall shot advantage, while having five shots on goal compared to the Bulldogs' three.

Senior goalkeeper Laura Clark (Lapeer, MI) continued to add to her career records at ODU, recording her 22 shutout. Clark is now 3-0-0 on the season and has not allow a goal on season, now having played in six matches covering a span over 350 minutes.

Senior Jordan Mazzi (Sunbury, OH) and freshman Ashley Blake (Hilliard, OH) led the Panthers with three shots each.

The Panthers will look to clinch at worst, a share of the GLIAC regular season title as they travel to Lake Erie to conclude the regular season schedule. ODU's quest for the number one seed in the GLIAC tournament is scheduled for a 3 p.m. kickoff on Saturday.
