COLUMBUS, Ohio -- On Senior Night at Ohio Dominican, the women's soccer team won their sixth straight match by defeating Walsh in overtime by a score of 1-0.
With the win, ODU (11-3-1, 8-1-1 GLIAC) now has the most wins by a Panther squad since joining the GLIAC in 2010. After the loss, Walsh falls to 7-3-4 (4-2-3 GLIAC).
It was a combination of a junior and sophomore which gave the six ODU seniors a lasting memory, as junior Lauren Pratt (West Chester, OH) scored in the 96th minute of a cross from sophomore Amanda Fodor (Hilliard, OH).
Both teams played to a scoreless draw in the first 90 minutes with ODU holding a 27-9 shot advantage at the end of regulation.
Senior goalkeeper Laura Clark (Lapeer, MI) recorded her 21st career shutout tonight, as she made a few big saves in the second half to keep the match scoreless.
Between the five senior offensive players, Kinsey Propst (Columbus, OH), Kristyn Kajganich (North Royalton, OH), Broegan Sautter (Bellville, OH), Emily Spencer (Gibsonia, PA), and Jordan Mazzi (Sunbury, OH), they totaled five shots.
Overall, the Panthers outshot the Cavaliers 28-9, with an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal. ODU also recorded 13 corner kicks to Walsh's four.
The Panthers are off on Sunday and will look to win their seventh straight match next week as they host Ferris State Thursday night at 7 p.m. for the annual Pink Game.
