Panthers Cruise Past Dragons, Win 3-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team has now run its home unbeaten streak to five as they defeat GLIAC foe, Tiffin, 3-0.

The Panthers (8-3-1, 5-1-1 GLIAC) have now won three straight matches. With the loss, Tiffin falls to 2-10-0 overall and 1-5-0 in the GLIAC.

ODU received goals from sophomore Alexa Scardina (Cincinnati, OH), sophomore Amanda Fodor (Hilliard, OH), and junior Lauren Pratt (West Chester, OH).

In a match which ODU seemed to control most of the possession, outshooting the Dragons 15-1, the Panthers were able to find the back of the net early. Scardina dribbled past the defenders on the right side as she beat the goalkeeper with a shot to the bottom left corner, to record her first goal of the season.

Fodor scored late in the first half as her shot from the top of the box hit the crossbar then deflecting off the goalkeeper before crossing the line. The Panthers took a 2-0 lead into the break.

ODU was able to tack on a third goal in the 60th minute as Pratt's first shot was blocked by the goalkeeper, but scored on the rebound as the net was open.

All three Panther goalkeepers saw action, which was the sixth team shutout for them this season. Freshman Kelsey Harris (Mason, OH) has now started in all 12 matches for the Panthers and holds a 0.81 goals against average on the season.

After today's match senior goalkeeper Laura Clark (Lapeer, MI) holds the school all-time career goals against average with a 0.78 mark. Clark is also one match shy of tying the career mark for games played.

To go along with the shot advantage, ODU also held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Black and Gold will be back on the road next weekend as they travel to No. 3 Grand Valley State and Walsh. The match between the Panthers and GVSU will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17.
