Former ODU women's soccer player and current assistant coach Jen Holton is playing professional soccer in Iceland this summer. She'll be checking in with OhioDominicanPanthers.com with updates from her travels this summer.
Hello all! Sorry it took me some time to get this blog out but this will be my last blog about my journey through Iceland.
Some of you may already know that I am home in the United States now. My journey was cut short due to a family emergency; however, it was long enough to allow me to have more than enough memories created while being there. Let's just say I have many pictures and stories to share for the rest of my life and that is something that is very rare and irreplaceable.
I am very grateful for receiving the chance to play the sport I love for a professional team abroad. I am also grateful to have met such amazing people, teammates and coaches while there and for the support and care they gave me while I was that far away from my friends and family at home. The experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am very happy that I took the chance and went for it. I learned a great deal about the world and myself and will forever cherish the memories made there.
Thank you to all my blog followers and supporters – it really meant a lot to receive the comments and compliments. I would also like to give a huge thank you to everyone that made this journey a success. I would not have made it through without the continuous loving support of my family and friends; you all mean the world and more to me.
For my last blog I decided to leave you all with a photo album of just some of the beautiful sights I got to experience there as well as some other pictures to help you all just understand a little more of what my time there was all about. I hope you all enjoy!
