Women's Soccer Selected Third in the GLIAC Coaches' Poll

BAY CITY, Michigan -- Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team has been picked to finish third in the GLIAC this season in voting conducted by the conference coaches.

The Panthers received 112 points and fell 11 points short of capturing second place in the poll. ODU is coming off a season in which they finished the regular season in fourth place after being selected to finish fourth in the preseason.

Coming off a national championship season, Grand Valley State claimed the top spot with 141 points and 10 first place votes. Michigan Tech received 123 points and three first place votes as they are selected to finish second this season. Rounding out the top five are Ferris State, collecting 107 points and Ashland which received 105 points.

This year's ODU squad will return 23 players including six seniors off a team which went 10-5-3 (7-4-1 GLIAC) last season.

The Panthers will open the season at home against Tusculum on Friday, September 5, at 7:00p.m.
