A collegiate soccer match can last a grand total of 6,600 seconds -- 110 minutes -- before ending in a double overtime draw, and Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team used nearly every single one of those seconds in an early season non-conference matchup at Cedarville.
The Yellow Jackets jumped on the board early, scoring the first goal of the game four and a half minutes into the first period after Jacoby Ziegler connected with the back of the net.
With Cedarville holding the 1-0 lead into the second half, determined captain Jennifer Holton (Johnstown, Ohio) zipped a header past Yellow Jackets goalie at the 57:02 mark to knot the score 1-1.
The second period ended in a 1-1 draw and sent the game into overtime.
At the end of the first overtime, the Panthers tried to seal the win in the 99th minute, but Jessica D'Isidoro (Twinsburg, Ohio) just missed high off a corner kick from Broegan Sautter (Bellville, Ohio).
With the game knotted 1-1 and the seconds winding down in double overtime, Lauren Pratt (West Chester, Ohio) chipped in the game-winning goal on a cross from D'Isidoro, crossing the goal line with just two ticks remaining on the clock.
The Panthers had an 18-12 advantage in shots for the match, and Laura Clark (Lapeer, Mich.) made seven saves in net to help ODU to the victory.
