Women's Golf Holds Tie for Second After Day One of CT Classic

PATASKALA, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's golf team holds a tie for second place after shooting 310 on day one of the Cumberland Trail Classic Saturday afternoon at Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio.

The Panthers trail Wayne State by one stroke as they shot 309 and are tied with Saginaw Valley one shot back. Maryville and Gannon round out the top five with rounds of 312 and 313.

On day one, the Panthers were led by junior Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio) who holds a tie for seventh after shooting a 75 in round one. The first round of 75 ties the career-low for Kruger that was set a year ago. Krueger was also tied for second in the field with 13 pars on her round.

Holding a tie for ninth is senior Kaylin Dill (Sedalia, Ohio) who shot a career-low 76 in the first round. Dill was also tied for second in par-3 scoring shooting -1 on the four holes. 

Junior Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio) holds a tie for 15th after firing a 77 on the first day. 

Holding a tie for 30th is junior Tori Jones (Ashland, Ohio) who posted a first round score of 82. Rounding out the Panther five was fellow junior Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio) who holds a tie for 39th shooting an 84.

The second round will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday at Cumberland Trail.
