COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) scored 12 of her team-high 14 points in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning layup as time expired Wednesday evening in Alumni Hall, as the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team won its fourth straight game with a 76-74 decision over Saginaw Valley State.

Fisher, who scored seven of ODU's last nine points, tied a back-and-forth final quarter at 74-all with two free throws with 48 seconds remaining. After a defensive stop, Fisher grabbed a rebound and went the length of the floor and her layup over the middle hung on the rim before falling as time expired.

The senior was a perfect three-for-three from the field in the fourth quarter, including two-for-two from three-point range, while also going four-of-four at the charity stripe. The fourth quarter was played within a seven-point window, and saw ODU come out on top 27-25.

The Panthers (4-3) got off to a fast start, as a 7-0 scoring run gave them a 12-6 edge just over five minutes in. Junior Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) scored five points during the run, as she finished with 11 points on four-of-five shooting for the game. Troyer also recorded four steals for the second consecutive outing.

Saginaw Valley though, used a 15-5 run to earn a 31-30 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. Senior Brittleigh Macaulay (Big Prairie, Ohio) scored four points late to give ODU a 34-33 lead at the break.

The Panther advantage expanded to as many as nine again in the third quarter at 45-36. The Cardinals (4-4), like they did in the first half, responded with another run, closing the frame on a 13-4 spurt to tie the score at 49-all heading into the final period.

ODU and SVSU combined for 52 points in the fourth, with both sides shooting over 60 percent from the field. Combined, the teams shot 19-of-29, a .655 field goal percentage. The Panthers were8-for-12 in the final frame and used an eight-for-nine effort at the foul line to help secure the win.

After a slow start from the field, both teams used the strong fourth quarter to finish over 40 percent overall. ODU made 24-of-52 field goals for a .462 shooting clip. The Cardinals enjoyed a 42-29 edge on the glass.

Leading the Panthers with 16 points off the bench was sophomore Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio). Schlabach was five-for-nine from the field and made four of her five attempts from behind the arc. Junior Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio) and senior Emily Thomas (Pickerington, Ohio) each finished with nine points. Fox also led the team with six rebounds. Thomas' season-high point total came on a perfect four-of-four shooting.

Overall, there were 24 ties and 32 lead changes. In the fourth quarter alone, there were eight ties and five lead changes.

The Panthers, now enjoying their longest winning streak since the 2017-18 campaign, will break for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action on Thursday, Dec. 5.
