COLUMBUS, Ohio – Winners of three straight games, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team returns to Alumni Hall to take on Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene this week.
After starting the New Year with a home victory against Ohio Valley, ODU went on the road and knocked off a pair of the G-MAC's preseason favorites in Findlay and Hillsdale.
The Panthers are averaging 82.7 points per game on 46.7 percent shooting in the three wins, hitting 35-of-85 (41.2 percent) from behind the arc. ODU has also connected on 82 percent from the free throw line in the last three games and is averaging 19.3 assists against 14.3 turnovers per contest.
It was a balanced offensive attack that paced the Panthers last weekend as five different players reached double figures in the two games. Kennedy Schlabach and Angela Troyer each poured in 21 points in the victory at Findlay, with Hannah Clark chipping in 11 off the bench. Alexa Fisher then led all scorers with 22 points at Hillsdale, while Alexis Overly tallied 15 and Clark added 11 more.
ODU's defense also shined against the Chargers on Saturday as well, particularly in the second half when the Panthers limited the hosts to 27 points on 8-of-31 (25.8 percent) shooting.
ODU won both meetings with Kentucky Wesleyan last year, scoring a 68-57 home win and an 86-75 road victory in the lone two contests between the teams in ODU's Division II era.
The Panthers are 3-0 against Trevecca since 2015, defeating the Trojans last year in Alumni Hall 76-54 before taking an 83-70 win in Nashville.
