Midweek Road Trip To Michigan In Store For Women's Basketball

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In the midst of a five-game road stretch, Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team will make a familiar trip to the middle of Michigan to take on old GLIAC foes Northwood and Saginaw Valley.

The Panthers will look to get back on track after suffering consecutive defeats to No. 2 Ashland and Glenville State.

ODU shot 53.3 percent and made 40 field goals against the Pioneers, but couldn't slow down the nation's highest-scoring offense in a 116-88 setback. The 40 field goals are the most in a game since ODU also made 40 in a 107-64 win over Taylor-Fort Wayne on Nov. 13, 2007.

The Panthers have been one of the top three-point shooting teams in the early-season, connecting on a conference-best 45.5 percent from beyond the arc, which is eighth-best in the nation. Sophomore Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) has hit 7-of-10 from deep, the seventh-best mark in the country thus far.

ODU is also 28th in the country and tops in the G-MAC in field goal percentage at 46.3 percent from the field.

The Panthers are 3-4 against Northwood since the 2010-11 season and have won the last two meetings against the Timberwolves, most recently a 72-68 win in Alumni Hall on Jan. 7, 2017.

ODU has a 4-4 mark against SVSU in that stretch, winning three of the last four, including a 77-56 win in Alumni Hall on Nov. 21, 2017.
