SOMERS, Wisc. – The Ohio Dominican men and women's cross country teams finished 26th and 23rd respectively at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament Saturday afternoon.
The meet featured two new school records and was the best Regional finish by both teams.
Junior Michael Barber (New Franklin, Ohio) paced the men's side, running a 35:03. Freshman Andrew Beier (Bellevue, Ohio) didn't finish far behind Barber, crossing the finish line with a time of 35:23.
Junior Connor Callahan (Columbus, Ohio) rounded out the team scoring with a time of 36:21.
Fellow GLIAC school Grand Valley took first place, which is the 12th consecutive Regional title for the Lakers.
On the women's side, junior Tara Walker (Lewis Center, Ohio) and sophomore Shakita Kabicek (Brook Park, Ohio) cracked into the top-100 with an 88th and 100th place finish respectively. Walker finished with a time of 23:32 while Kabicek ran a time of 23:41.
Sophomore Nicole Brown (Columbus, Ohio) cross the finish line with a time of 24:21 while junior Erin Miller (London, Ohio) finished with a time of 25:43.
Competing in their last meet as a Panther, seniors Mallory Kitts (Springfield, Ohio) and Michelle McKeen (Pataskala, Ohio) ran a 25:15 and a 25:25 respectively.
Grand Valley also took the top spot on the women's side, the 13th consecutive title for the Lakers.
