Men's Soccer Earns Shutout of Trevecca on Senior Day

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team shutout Trevecca Nazarene 3-0 senior day Saturday afternoon at Panther Stadium in G-MAC play.

The Panthers (6-9-2, 4-7-2) were led by a pair of seniors with Matthew Pardi (Worthington, Ohio) and Cameron Christian (Pataskala, Ohio) each scoring on the afternoon.

ODU jumped on the leaderboard in the 20th minute as junior Foster Martin (Kings Mills, Ohio) found Pardi on a short through ball as Pardi converted in the lower right corner of the net for his first goal of the year.

Just before the half, in the 38th minute, sophomore Sadik Mahamud (Columbus, Ohio) found Christian streaking down the left side of the field and the senior converted his one-on-one opportunity with the Trojan goalkeeper to double the Panther lead at 2-0 heading into the intermission.

The Panthers outshot Trevecca 8-to-4 in the opening 45 minutes with a 1-to-0 advantage in corner kicks.

A physical second half saw a combined 24 fouls with Trevecca (3-12-1, 2-10-1) having 13 to ODU's 11.

The Panthers added an extra insurance goal in the half as freshman Alex Larzelere (Hilliard, Ohio) converted on a miscue from the Trojan goalkeeper in the 67th minute for his fourth on the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Russell Montemarano (Westerville, Ohio) earned his second shutout of the season making four saves on the afternoon.

ODU is back in action hosting Cedarville on Tuesday, November 5 with kickoff set for 5 p.m. in the final regular season game of the year.
