COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team fell to Tiffin in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup by a score of 3-0.
The Panthers (3-2-0, 1-1-0 GLIAC) were unable to record a goal for the first time this season. Sophomore Andre Landell scored two of the three goals for the Dragons (3-0-1, 2-0-0 GLIAC).
Both teams went back and forth in the early on as each team used crisp, quick passes to move the ball down the field, but in the 20th minute Landell scored the first goal of the match as he was able to beat junior Justin Alexander (Reynoldsburg, OH) one on one off a ball over the top and into the box.
The Panthers looked to answer right away as junior Brent Wahle (Pataskala, OH) had two opportunities at goal with one being saved, and the other going wide right.
In the closing minutes of the first half, the Dragons added another goal off a cross from the left corner to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
In the 54th minute the Panthers were able to draw a penalty kick, but senior Jakob Szabo's (Worthington, OH) shot was saved by the goalkeeper.
Landell added his second goal of the game in the 66th minute as he scored while bending a corner kick into the net, as the Dragons defeated ODU by a final of 3-0.
Both teams had 12 shots, with Tiffin having the advantage on goal, 6-3. Szabo and Wahle led the Panthers in shots with three apiece. Sophomore Andrew Schwall (Gahanna, OH) charted two shots for ODU.
The Black and Gold will look to bounce back quickly as they host GLIAC rival, Findlay at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21 at Panther Stadium.
