TOWSON, Md. – On Wednesday, Ohio Dominican senior Colby Catlett (Hilliard, Ohio) was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America NCAA Division II Men's Soccer First Team, as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A business administration major with a 3.96 G.P.A., Catlett was honored as an All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference midfielder while playing for Ohio Dominican. The Hilliard, Ohio native finished his two-year career with 13 goals and seven assists. He led the team to a 12-6-1 record, including a 9-4 mark in GLIAC play in 2012. He was also a first team Daktronics all-Midwest Region selection in 2011.
Catlett joins Saginaw Valley's Zach Myers as the only other athlete from a GLIAC school to be honored.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
