FINDLAY, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's golf team finished fifth at the Ohio Cup hosted by Findlay at Red Hawk Run Golf Club where the Panthers shot 601 in the one day 36-hole event on Saturday.
The Panthers had a first round score of 308 before posting the fourth best round of the afternoon slate at 293.
Playing as an individual, sophomore Ben Herman (Germantown, Ohio) had a career day posting a career-low round of 69 (-3) in round two after shooting 72 (E) in round one for a career-low 36-hole score of 141 finishing tied for third. His 36-hole score of 141 is tied for the school record with Austin Goodridge and his round of 69 (-3) was tied for the second best round in Panther history.
Sophomore Robert Holden (Hertfordshire, England) led the way for the Panther five shooting a 76 in the first round followed by tying his career-low at even-par 72 on the final 18 as he finished tied for 14th.
Fellow sophomore Dalton Crowley (Nashport, Ohio) had the low round of the day for the Panthers posting a 71 (-1) in round two after posting a 79 in round one to finish tied for 21st.
Finishing tied for 31st was senior Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) who finished his day with an even-par round of 72 after shooting 80 in round one.
Freshman Jacob Brownley (West Chester, Ohio) shot rounds of 75 and 80 to finish tied for 43rd while junior Alex Heban (Toledo, Ohio) rounded out the Panther five finished tied for 46th with a pair of 78's.
ODU will be back on the links Monday and Tuesday, September 16 and 17 as they head to The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Kentucky to play in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Fall Invitational.
