Men's Golf Finishes Second at Bill Blazer Memorial

PATASKALA, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's golf team finished second at the Bill Blazer Memorial after a two day score of 602 as they shot 297 on Saturday at Cumberland Trail Golf Club.

Malone won by a stroke over the Panthers shooting 601 as Scotty Brown of Malone was the medalist shooting 139 (-5).

Freshman Ben Herman (Germantown, Ohio) earned All-Tournament honors as he had his second best finish of the year finishing eighth shooting 149 over the two days with a 76 followed with a 73 on Saturday. Herman led the field this weekend with 27 pars over his 36 holes.

In his final home tournament, senior Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) finished ninth shooting 150 with a pair of 75's.

Junior Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) and sophomore Alex Heban (Toledo, Ohio) finished tied for 12th combined to shoot 152 as Heban shot 74 and Saffell posted a 76 on Saturday.

Freshman Robert Holden (Hertfordshire, England) rounded out the Panther five finishing tied for 15th after shooting a 75 on day two for the total of 153.

Playing as an individual, senior Jack Casebolt (Pickerington, Ohio) finished tied for 18th shooting two rounds in the 70's with a 76 and 79. Finishing in 20th was freshman Dalton Crowley (Nashport, Ohio) as he improved 12 shots from day one posting an even par 72 on day two.

The Panthers are back on the links as they compete in the G-MAC Championship on Friday, April 19 in Lexington, Kentucky.
