COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team opens the Great Midwest Athletic Conference schedule this weekend traveling to Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene.
The battle of the Panthers is set for Thursday at 7:45 p.m. CT while the contest with the Trojans is set for 4:15 p.m. CT.

The Panthers enter the week with a 3-5 record and are coming off a 1-1 week after a 70-64 overtime loss to Missouri-St. Louis and an 84-60 win over Marvyille at the Thanksgiving Classic in St. Louis.
Senior forward Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) was just named the G-MAC player of the week after scoring 28 points per game last week on an astounding 67.7% shooting (21-for-31) also averaging 13.5 rebounds per game for a pair of double-doubles last week.
In the battle with the hosts, Varence posted a 30 point, 16 rebound double-double in the overtime loss and a 26 point, 11 rebounds performance in the win over Maryville the next day.
The Panthers made a season-high 14 threes in the dominating win over Maryville where they also shot a season-high 51.5%.
Freshman Alek West (Sylvania, Ohio) turned in his best two performances as a Panther with a career-high 12 points in 34 minutes in the loss to UMSL and nine points along with a team season high of eight assists in the win over Maryville.
Varence and fellow senior Sam Hickey (Toledo, Ohio) continue to climb the ODU record book as Varence entered the top-10 at number-9 in total scoring at 1,357 while Hickey is just behind at in 11th in school history with 1,319. Varence continues to lead the Panthers and the conference averaging 20.6 points per game while Hickey is just behind at 16.6.
About Kentucky Wesleyan
KWC enters the week with a 1-5 record after a pair of losses hosting a Thanksgiving Classic against Wheeling and Auburn-Montgomery.
KWC averages 64.7 points per game on 44.7% from the floor and just 31.9% from behind the arc. Adam Goetz leads the Panthers in scoring at 15.2 points per game as the only player to average double-figures. Jo Griffin averages 9.7 points while Mohamed Abu Arisha averages 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
Defensively, KWC is giving up 75 points per game with their opponents shooting 48.8% from the floor and 41% from behind the arc.
Trevecca enters the week with an 0-7 record after dropping to No. 8 Alabama-Huntsville Monday evening. Trevecca hosts Tiffin on Thursday before the Panthers head to Nashville on Saturday.
The Trojans enter the week scoring 65.9 points per game led by Austin Wills at 12.9. Wills has only started three games for the Trojans and Reed Smith leads the starters with 10.1 points per contest.
Defensively, the Trojans are allowing 88.3 points per game with their opponents shooting 48% from the floor and 35% from behind the arc.
