COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team heads to the UMSL Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Missouri St. Louis to take on the hosts and Maryville on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Panthers and Tritons tip off at 1 p.m. CT Tuesday with the contest with the Saints tipping off at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The Panthers are 2-4 after a pair of losses to Indianapolis and Grand Valley State this past weekend at the Don Callan Classic hosted by Cedarville.
Seniors Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) and Michael Scott (Hebron, Ky.) led the Panthers throughout the week with Varence scoring 18 points in each game and Scott having 19 in the loss to Grand Valley and seven in the loss to Indianapolis. Fellow senior Sam Hickey (Toledo, Ohio) still leads the Panthers in points per game at 18.7 with Varence just behind at 18.2. Varence is leading the team on the glass grabbing 8.8 rebounds per game. Scott averages 12.2 points per contest on a team high 53.6% shooting while dishing out 3.7 assists per game.
As a team, the Panthers are scoring 79.2 points per game on 43.7% shooting while giving up 80.7 points on the opponents 46.4% shooting.
Over the weekend, the Panthers dropped a 71-69 contest to the Greyhounds where they had a look at the buzzer that went begging. On Saturday against GVSU, ODU struggled to gain the advantage as any run was seemingly answered by the Lakers.
This will be the first time in the Division II era that ODU and UMSL will meet with the Panthers and Saints of Maryville matching up for the third time and first since 2015; an 84-69 win for the Panthers.
About Missouri St. Louis
The Tritons enter the week with a 4-1 record after a pair of decisive wins over Illinois College and Central Christian College of the Bible.
UMSL is scoring 75 points per game this season while giving up just 57.4 and forcing 17.6 turnovers per game.
UMSL has three players that average double-figures led by Jose Grubbs at 13.8 and Jason Towery at 12.8. Yaakema Rose Jr. is the final Triton averaging double-figures posting 11.4 per game. On the glass, the Tritons have four players averaging at least 5.4 rebounds per game and three more averaging at least 4.0.
Jalen Wilkins-McCoy will lead the Triton front court as he is coming off a 17 point 10 rebound double-double in the win over CCCB where he is averaging 8.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
The Saints are 2-2 to enter the week with losses to Walsh and Hannibal-Lagrange and wins over Tiffin and Saint Louis College of Pharmacy so far in the young season.
Maryville is averaging 72 points per game while giving up 74.8 points per game so far this season. The offense will be led by Parker Long who pours in 20 points per game while Owen Long averages 12.3. Malik Barnett is the final Saint averaging double-figures at 12.0 point per contest. The Saints grab 40 rebounds per game led by Kamto Eze at 7.7 with three other Saints averaging at least 5.0 per game.
In their last win over the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy, Owen Long led the way with 18 points including 5-of-7 from three while Parker Long had 18 points and eight assists on the evening.
