# 12 – Men's Basketball Overtime Win at Central State
Facing a strong, seasoned Central State basketball squad, the Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team took the game down to the wire and hung on to grab a 72-71 win in overtime. The affair featured 11 ties and 19 lead changes and gave the Panthers their third straight win.
Trailing 65-63 with the clock due to expire, Morgan Jones (Oberlin, Ohio) drove the length of the floor after an outlet pass, but missed the layup. John Trew (Barberton, Ohio) grabbed the miss but failed to convert the putback. But Bobby Stauffer (Lexington, Ky.), flying in from the backside, flipped Trew's miss up and in as the clock went to zero, sending the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Panthers held a 72-71 lead with 45.3 seconds left on the clock. Central State had a chance to tie or go ahead with a one and the bonus free throw. The front end was missed and the Panthers grabbed the rebound and called an immediate timeout.
Following the timeout, ODU missed a jump shot with 21.9 seconds left, but Jones grabbed the rebound and was quickly fouled. Jones missed the free throw, and it was rebounded by CSU. A Marauder turnover in the last second gave the Black and Gold the win.
Jones led ODU with 21 points, hitting 10-of-24 shots from the field. Chad Nelson (Pickerington, Ohio) tallied 12 points and six rebounds and Stauffer added nine points and 11 rebounds. Trew ended the night with eight points and 11 caroms.
