Dauson Dales became a member of the Panther coaching staff in 2022 following an illustrious four-year career in Black and Gold. 

Dales was selected for two All-American Teams following the 2021 season, where he was named the G-MAC Player of the Year along with First-Team All-G-MAC Honors. He appeared in all 11 games, ranking first in the conference and fifth nationally with 122 total tackles. He broke ODU’s single season tackle record as he averaged 11.1 tackles per game, had eight tackles for loss, and six pass break-ups. 

In the Spring 2021 season, Dales was awarded First Team All-GMAC after he led the team with 26 solo tackles and 79 total tackles while leading the conference and ranking second nationally in total tackles. Dales became the G-MAC’s all-time tackle leader by the end of 2021. 

For the 2019 season, he was selected to G-MAC First Team after he finished second on the team in total tackles with 97. He ranked second in the conference and 26th nationally in tackles per game, 9.7 while ranking in the top five in the G-MAC in solo tackles per game (4.6) and fumbles recovered (2).
