Historic Day Earns Wahle GLIAC Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. – After one of the best games in recent history by a collegiate kicker, junior Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) was named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Wahle went 3-for-3 on field goal tries in ODU's 38-14 win over Saginaw Valley on Saturday. He made a school-record 53 yard kick to go along with a 51 yarder and a 23 yarder.

In the last two years, no kicker at any level has made two field goals of 51 yards or longer in the same game.

Wahle has now earned four GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, to go along with two GLIAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week nods. It's the second time this season he's earned the Special Teams accolade.

On the season, Wahle has made 14-of-18 field goals and has 45 field goal makes in his three year career at ODU.

The Panthers are ranked No. 11 in both the AFCA and D2Football.com polls and are No. 2 in the Super Region Four rankings. ODU concludes the regular season at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Tiffin.
