Football Ranked No. 10 by D2Football.com; Wahle Named All-American

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's football team is ranked No. 10 in the D2Football.com Preseason Top 25 poll, while junior kicker Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) was named a First Team Preseason All-American by the website.

ODU has been a consensus preseason top-15 team by outlets including Sporting News (No. 13), USA Today (No. 8), Lindy's (No. 12) and the AFCA (No. 13).

The Panthers have three games scheduled against other D2Football.com preseason Top 25 teams in No. 2 Grand Valley State (Sept. 13), No. 20 Saginaw Valley State (Nov. 8) and No. 21 Ferris State (Oct. 18).

This summer, Wahle has garnered Preseason All-American recognition by USA College Football, Beyond Sports Network, Sporting News and Lindy's. He has also been named to the Fred Mitchell Award Watch List as being one of the best small college kickers in the nation.

Wahle led all of Division II in field goals made per game last season and set a GLIAC record by making 19 field goals in conference play (21 overall).

The Panthers kick off the 2014 season against Malone at noon on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Panther Stadium.
