Johnson Selected to CDFL Preseason All-American List

GOSHEN, N.Y. – Senior wide receiver and kick returner Abe Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named a First Team Preseason All-American by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL).

The CDFL, which sponsors the D2 vs. NAIA Challenge Bowl, recognizes only seniors on its preseason All-American list.

A Second Team All-GLIAC pick last fall, Johnson led the team with 60 receptions and seven touchdowns on the season. He finished with 657 yards, including a pair of 127 yard games against Hillsdale and Lake Erie.

For his career, Johnson has 109 receptions for 1,254 yards, ranking seventh on ODU's all-time list in both categories.

Also an adept kick returner, Johnson has 1,513 return yards, which is second-best in school history. He had a 93-yard kick return for a touchdown against Grand Valley. He's averaged 24.4 yards per kick return in his career.
