COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's baseball team will take its season-best five game win streak into a G-MAC weekend series with Alderson Broaddus at Panther Valley.

ODU closed its spring trip with a March 12 3-0 win over Cal (Pa.), the No. 10 ranked team in the Atlantic Region, then took all four games against Tiffin in its G-MAC opening series last weekend.

ODU has received solid pitching over that five game stretch, allowing just 14 runs and 35 hits in that stretch. The staff has a 2.48 ERA with 34 strikeouts against 15 walks and has surrendered just one home run.

The offense has come alive in that stretch as well, hitting .305 with a .374 OBP. The Panthers have 14 extra base hits in the five games and have struck out just 21 times while drawing 17 walks.

ODU sits atop the league with a .275 batting average, and the Panthers are second in the league with 12 homers. ODU has also had success on the base paths, stealing 29-of-30 bases this spring.

Senior Genesis Hillard (Cincinnati, Ohio) continues to lead the league in runs scored (19) and ranks 10th in OBP (.442). He's hit in seven straight games.

Senior Colin Kaucher (Toledo, Ohio) is third in RBIs (17), while junior Joey Machuga (Canfield, Ohio) is eighth (14). Sophomore Tim Zeller (Mount Vernon, Ohio) ranks seventh in the league in slugging (.579)

Freshman Manny Vorhees (Wapakoneta, Ohio) has safely reached base in all 17 games this season, while freshman Thomas Staab (Bellville, Ohio) is riding a five-game hitting streak.

Mitchell Bault (Maineville, Ohio) is the conference leader in strikeouts (36) and is 14th in the country in strikeout-to-walk ratio (9:1). His four walks allowed this season also have him 30th in the nation in walks allowed per nine innings (1.23).

Defensively, Kaucher has thrown out 11 would-be base stealers, tops in the conference.

ODU has a 3-0 record against AB in its Division II era. The Panthers won a 19-1 decision against the Battlers in 2014 and swept a doubleheader last year with wins of 4-3 and 10-2 in 2018 in Panther Valley.
