COLUMBUS, Ohio – After four straight road games, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (2-3, 1-2 G-MAC) football team returned home to Sunbury Road for the 2026 home opener. The #16 ranked Findlay Oilers (4-1, 2-1) battled the Panthers on Saturday (Oct. 3) afternoon.
Findlay used a 28-point fourth quarter to defeat the Panthers 41-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ohio Dominican started the game with the ball and scored the first points of the game. A seven-play, 45-yard drive ended a 37-yard field goal by Elliot, giving the Panthers a 3-0 lead with 12:21 left in the first quarter.
- Findlay answered with seven plays to go 70 yards and took the lead on a 25-yard touchdown pass. The Oilers led 7-3 with under ten minutes left in quarter #1.
- The Oilers added a 28-yard field goal six minutes later to lead 10-3.
- On the next Oiler drive, Gordon forced a fumble and Pence recovered as ODU got the ball near midfield. The Panthers could not answer as the quarter ended at 10-3 Findlay.
- Four minutes into the second quarter, Findlay pushed the lead to 13-3 with a 39-yard field goal.
- In the quarter, ODU managed two interceptions by Robinson and Black but could not get closer. On the final play of the half, Eliott was inches short from a 44-yard field goal as the score was 13-3 at the break.
- The third quarter was scoreless as neither team managed much offense.
- The Oilers scored on their first four drives of the fourth quarter. They scored on a 24-yard pass and ran in scores of five, five and ten yards, respectively.
