FAIRBORN, Ohio - The 2025 version of the Ohio Dominican Panthers cross country team began the season at the Mike Baumer Classic on Friday (Sept. 5) evening. 

The Panthers took to the course for a pair of 5K runs at Fairborn Community Park on a cool evening. 

Merrick Shorter started the season with his best 5K time of his career, a 15:38.4 mark that ranks second all-time in the record books. He finished 52nd place overall. 

On the women's side, Eva Dulle led with a PR of 20:06.9 in 71st place. Anna Blackstone was one spot behind with her 5K personal best of 20:12.0. Alyza Camp just beat her personal best by three seconds at 22:16.0 in 104th place. Tyra McClain clocked in at 22:56.7 for an 111st placce finish. 

The Panthers will return to action in two weeks at Cedarville for the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Challenge.
