CEDARVILLE, Ohio - After a cool season opener two weeks ago, the Ohio Dominican Panthers cross country team returned to action at the All-Ohio Classic on Friday (Sept. 19) evening.
Battling hot and humid conditions for mid-September, the Panthers took the course at Cedarville for a men's 8K race and women's 6K race. The women finished 19th of 20 teams that scored in the overall standings and was seventh in the D2/NAIA results.
Merrick Shorter broke his own 8K record with a new mark of 25:27.7 as he was 19th overall and 14th in the D2/NAIA standings.
Eva Dulle set a 6K PR of 25:22.6 as the Panthers best finisher in 143rd place.
Anna Blackstone had the second best mark for ODU at 25:57.3 in 161st place.
Alyza Camp just crossed the line at 27:29.0 for 212th place.
Tyra McClain was fourth on the team at a time of 28:56.4.
Julia Eaton made her cross country debut with a first race time of 29:42.6.
The Panthers take to the course in two weeks at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on October 3rd.
