CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican men's and women's cross country teams battled teams across the Buckeye State under the lights at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday (Sept. 16) night. For the first time ever, the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course on the campus of Cedarville University was lit up to have Ohio's best runners shine after dark.
The women finished 27th in the 5K overall team race and tallied a 12th place team finish in the D2/NAIA division.
Kylee Henry (Circleville, Ohio) ran a personal best of 20:31.8 as the Panthers' top finisher. Paige Boehringer (Covington, Ohio) clocked in at 20:52.1 as the second place finisher on the Panthers. Jaclyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) finished with a 21:40.9 time while Jeralyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) was 13 seconds back at 21:53.7. Anastasiia Holovchenko crossed the finish line with a time of 31:56.8, shaving nearly five minutes off her PR.
The men totaled a 24th place overall finish for the 8K and 12th in the D2/NAIA division standings.
Eayuel Gebrtsadik (Columbus, Ohio) ran a PR time of 26:54.0, over 40 seconds faster than his previous best, to be the first Panthers finisher. Merrick Shorter (Dublin, Ohio) ran his best 8K to date as he finished the dark course in 27:44.6. Dylan Taylor (Tipp City, Ohio) followed the PR trend with a 28:03.1, over a minute faster than his best time. Jacob Krous (Galena, Ohio) finished in 28:20.2 for the Black and Gold. Landon Latham (Westland, Michigan) (29:10.1) and Edward Devaney (Lexington, Ohio) (29:13.2) finished close together as Devaney set a personal best. Michael Holbrook added a PR of 32:46.3 while Marcus Steele (Columbus, Ohio) rounded out the group with a 33:02.4.
Ohio Dominican will race in Louisville, Kentucky at the Live in Lou Classic on October 1st.
