COLUMBUS, Ohio - With the GLIAC title hanging in the balance, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team concludes conclude conference play this week with a pair of key match-ups, beginning with a 7:30 p.m. bout at Ashland on Thursday, Oct. 20, followed by a 4:30 p.m. battle at home against Lake Erie on Sunday, Oct. 23.

About the Panthers:
ODU ran its unbeaten streak to four games with a 2-2 draw in double overtime at Tiffin on Thursday and a 3-0 shutout of Findlay at home on Sunday.
Junior Andrew Edler (Hilliard, OH) provided all the offense against the Dragons with his season's first score in the 43rd minute and 17 minutes later at the 60:01 mark with his second goal of the evening.
Against the Oilers on Sunday, the Panthers wasted little time taking control of the match as senior Felix Darko (Reynoldsburg, OH) scored off a junior Casey Weddle's (Cincinnati, OH) pass just 1:41 into the game. Sophomore Duncan Campbell (Hilliard, OH) also tallied his first score of the year, giving ODU a 2-0 advantage in the 43rd minute as he connected on a pass from junior Tommy Glenn (Pataskala, OH). GLIAC scoring leader, junior Colby Catlett (Hilliard, OH) added to his season total with his eighth score in the 67th minute of the second as he one-touched a pass from freshman Trevor Gates (Gahanna, OH).
Senior goalkeeper Andrew Jones (Worthington, OH) picked up his first collegiate win since joining the team less than a week earlier, matching the Tiffin game with four saves. Sunday's shutout was the first since a 3-0 win over Northwood in last year's regular season finale.
About the Eagles:
The Eagles were 1-0-1 last week to snap an eight-game winless streak and pick up four points and remain in the hunt for a spot in the GLIAC Tournament. . AU beat #25 Northwood on Friday at Ferguson Field, 2-0. Kenny Hewitt opened the scoring with a nicely placed strike from 12 yards off an over-the-top feed from J.P. Lytle. It was Hewitt's third goal of the season and Lytle's second assist. The second goal came on a defensive miscue by the 'Wolves that led to an own goal. Junior goalkeeper Justin Nolan made three saves for the shutout. On Sunday, Nolan made six saves to preserve a 0-0 tie against SVSU. With his fourth shutout of the season and the 10th in his career, Nolan collected GLIAC Player of the Week honors.
About the Storm:
Lake Erie got a timely win over Northwood 2-1 in overtime on Sunday to move into a tie for third place in the GLIAC standings. Earlier in the week, the Storm fell to Saginaw Valley State, 5-1. The golden goal against Northwood came just 1:12 into the first overtime period as junior Jake Shelton gathered the ball and found junior Randy Danso who converted the open look. Against the Cardinals, Danny Eborall was the lone source of offense for the Storm as he drew a penalty in the box which was converted into a LEC goal by sophomore Stewart Bath.
The Series:
Thursday marks the 16th all-time meeting between ODU and Ashland with the Eagles holding a 10-2-3 advantage in the series. The Panthers knocked off than No. 18 Ashland 2-0 at home back on Sept. 16 for their first win against the Eagles since the 2007 season. ODU and Lake Erie will be meeting for the sixth time on Sunday with the Panthers boasting a perfect 5-0-0 mark in the series, including a 2-1 road win in their first meeting this year on Sept. 18.

-- With his game-winner against Findlay on Sunday, Felix Darko moved into a tie for fifth on ODU's career goals list with 24 and took over sole possession of fifth on the career points chart with 59.
-- With eight overtimes this season, including seven in the last nine games, the Panthers have already surpassed the program's single-season record for overtime games of five and are just three shy of matching the Division II national record of 11 set by Fort Lewis back in 2000.
