Ellis, Devereaux Lead Cross Country At Great Midwest Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Ohio Dominican cross country seniors Chad Ellis (Brook Park, Ohio) and Jalyn Devereaux (Carroll, Ohio) led the Panthers in competition at the 2017 Great Midwest Championships on Saturday.

Ellis finished in 27:33.1 to notch the third-fastest men's 8k time of the season for Ohio Dominican.

Recording a top 30 finish for the Panthers was Devereaux, crossing the finish line in 23:28.5 to place 29th out of 119 competitors. Devereaux boasts two of the fastest seven women's 5k times this fall for ODU.

Junior Alejandro Serna (Duncanville, Texas) finished with the second-fastest 8k time for the men's squad, finishing in 28:57.1 with an average mile time of 5:49.5. Senior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) crossed the finish line in 29:27.7 to record the third-fastest time of the day for the ODU men.

Notching the second-fastest time of the day for the Panther women was junior Kristen Noecker (Circleville, Ohio), recording a 5k time of 26:14.1 with an average mile of 7:02.0. Junior Capria Hall (Zanesville, Ohio) finished in 27:22.3 for Ohio Dominican.

The Panthers will look forward to the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, November 4 at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course in Cedarville, Ohio.
