COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's men's and women's cross country teams will be competing in the G-MAC Championships on Saturday Oct. 21, 2017. The race will be held at Percy Warner Park/ Vaughn's Gap Course in Nashville, Tennessee.
Competition is as follows:
Men's 8k Championships: 10:30 a.m. CT
Women's 6k Championships: 11:30 a.m. CT
The men's team will look to build off a solid showing at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic into this week's competition at the conference championships. The men's team has been led by seniors Chad Ellis (Brook Park, Ohio) and Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio). Both set their season best times at the Wilmington Invitational, with Ellis crossing the line in 26:58.6 while Carroll crossed the line in 27:22.7.
Also having a solid season going into this weekend's competition is junior Alejandro Serna (Duncanville, TX) and sophomore Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio). Serna posted a season's best at the Lansing Invitational with a time of 27:58 and Bass set a personal best of 33:51 at the Lansing Invitational.
On the women's side, ODU has been led by senior Jalyn Devereaux (Carroll, Ohio), who will be continuing her solid senior season this weekend. Devereaux has placed in the top 20 four times this season. Other notables that are looking to continue the momentum of the their solid seasons this weekend are junior Kristen Noecker (Circleville, Ohio) and senior Capria Hall (Zanesville, Ohio). Noecker set a season's-best 5k time at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic, crossing the line in 21:25.2, while Hall set a season's-best 5k time at the National Catholic Meet after crossing the finish line in 21:48.4.
Following the G-MAC Championships, the Panthers will take the course at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Cedarville, Ohio at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course on Saturday Nov. 4, 2017.
