Cross Country Wraps Up Competition At All-Ohio Championships

CEDARVILLE, Ohio — Ohio Dominican cross country competed at the 2017 All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course at Cedarville University on Friday afternoon.

Recording the top finish in the women's 6k championship for ODU was senior Jalyn Devereaux (Carroll, Ohio), finishing 108th out of 333 runners overall and 26th out of 110 Division II runners with a time of 23:34.9. Devereaux's run marks the second-fastest women's 6k time on the season for the Panthers.

Junior Kristen Noecker (Circleville, Ohio) recorded her fastest 6k time of the year with a run of 25:38.7, while junior Capria Hall (Zanesville, Ohio) crossed the finish line in 26:33.4. Junior Makaylah Downour (Carroll, Ohio) led the women's squad in the women's open 6k with a finish of 26:45.4 to place 101st.

Leading the way in the men's 8k championship was senior Chad Ellis (Brook Park, Ohio), who recorded the second-fastest men's 8k time of the season for ODU with a finish of 27:08.8 to place 141st out of 323 competitors overall and 45th out of 108 Division II runners. Senior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio) finished in 28:17.4, ODU's fourth-fastest men's 8k time of the year.

Ohio Dominican will hit the course once again on Friday, October 13 in Wilmington, Ohio for the Jenna Strong Fall Classic.
