COLUMBUS, Ohio — After a strong showing by Ohio Dominican's men's and women's cross country teams at the Battle of Columbus on Friday, the Panthers look to carry their momentum into the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational this Saturday, September 9.
The meet will be held at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio. Racing will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the men's 8k race, and the women's 6k will follow, starting at 11:30 a.m.
The men's team was led at the Battle of Columbus by senior Chad Ellis (Brook Park, Ohio), who finished seventh with a time of 16:34.1. Also finishing strong for the Panthers was senior Justin Carroll (Berea,OH) and junior Wes Pipher (Attica, OH), who both finished in the top 10.
On the women's side, Jalyn Devereaux (Carroll, OH) led the Panthers with a sixth place finish and time of 19:33.6, the 10th-fastest 5k time in ODU women's cross country history. Junior Kristen Noecker (Circleville, OH) and senior Capria Hall (Zanseville, OH) both notched top 25 finishes. The men's squad saw all of its runners place in the top 15, while the women realized four top 25 finishes.
Following the OWU Invitational this Saturday, the Panthers will prep to travel to South Bend, Indiana for the National Catholic Meet, hosted by Notre Dame University at Notre Dame Golf Course on Friday, September 17.
