Cross Country Notches Four Top 10 Finishes At Battle Of Columbus

WESTERVILLE, Ohio —Four Ohio Dominican cross country runners recorded top 10 finishes at the Battle of Columbus on Friday night at the Otterbein University Cross Country Course.

Ohio Dominican's men's and women's squads were in action, competing against Otterbein and Capital.

ODU saw three runners finish in the top 10 of the men's 5k. Senior Chad Ellis (Brook Park, Ohio) finished seventh with a time of 16:34.1. Finishing just behind Ellis in 16:38.5 was senior Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio), and junior Wes Pipher (Attica, Ohio) notched a 10th place finish with a time of 16:49.6.

Ohio Dominican's women were led by senior Jalyn Devereaux (Carroll, Ohio), finishing in 19:33.6 to record the 10th-fastest 5k time in ODU women's cross country history. Devereaux also boasts the eighth and 11th-fastest 5k times for Ohio Dominican women's cross country at 19:25.0 and 19:35.3.

Junior Kristen Noecker (Circleville, Ohio) finished 23rd with a time of 21:52.2, and junior Capria Hall (Zanesville, Ohio) crossed the finish line in 21:54.4 to take 24th for the Panthers.

ODU cross country will look forward to the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, September 9 at Liberty Park in Powell.
