Pipher Sets 10K School Record To Lead Cross Country At NCAA Midwest Regional

EVANSVILLE, IN – Sophomore Wes Pipher (Attica, Ohio) finished the men's 10k in 32:53.27 to set a school record for the men's 10k and lead Ohio Dominican's cross country team at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet on Saturday in Evansville, Indiana.

Pipher's time was good enough to place him in 93rd out of 218 runners and lead Ohio Dominican.

Senior Patrick Ferguson (Austintown, Ohio) also set a new personal best, coming in 118th place with a time of 33:26.04, the fourth-fastest time in school history.  Rounding out the men's team was senior Andrew Beier (Bellevue, Ohio), who finished with a time of 35:07.55.

For the women's squad, senior Nicole Brown (Columbus, Ohio) led the team to a 21st place finish in the 6k, coming in 72nd place out of 221 runners. Brown turned in a personal best time of 22:30.82, beating her previous mark by 42 seconds and notching the second-fastest 6k time in school history.  Senior Shakita Kabicek (Brook Park, Ohio) finished 111th with a time of 23:20.62, and junior Jalyn Devereaux (Carroll, Ohio) turned in a personal best of 23:44.32, good for 133rd place in the meet. 

Freshmen Hannah Peltier (Marion, Ohio) and Cassidy Long (Canal Winchester, Ohio) also finished up their seasons notching personal best times.  Peltier finished in 24:43.31, while Long turned in a time of 25:05.12.  Senior Lindsay Davis (Lewis Center, Ohio) finished with a time of 25:14.59.

With the cross country season concluded, student-athletes also competing on the ODU track and field team will turn their attention to the indoor track and field season, with the first meet coming on December 2 in Tiffin.
