Remmetter’s 21 Kills Not Enough As Volleyball Falls In Nashville

NASHVILLE – Freshman Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio) notched her second collegiate double-double and had a season-high 21 kills, but Ohio Dominican's volleyball team fell 3-1 (17-25, 21-25, 25-23, 23-25) at Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday.

Remmetter added 11 digs, which are the second-most she's registered in a match this season, and hit .291 on 55 swings in the match. Sophomore Ashton Barr (New Castle, Ind.) also finished with a double-double as she recorded 37 assists and 13 digs, along with five service aces.

Sophomore Alexis Young (Gahanna, Ohio) added 12 kills and freshman Tate Rybarczyk (Avon Lake, Ohio) recorded 15 digs.

After dropping the first two sets, the Panthers pulled through in the third frame. Neither side led by more than two points the entire set, and tied at 23, Remmetter and freshman Riley Kizer (Mason, Ohio) each picked up kills to send the match to a fourth frame.

The Panthers jumped to a 10-5 lead in that fourth set and it would again be tied at 23-all, but this time, the Trojans scored the final two points to come away with the match.

ODU (2-16, 0-9 G-MAC) returns home to host Malone at 7 p.m. Friday on its Breast Cancer Awareness Night match.
