COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team host two conference opponents at Alumni Hall this weekend.
The weekend begins Friday with a match-up against the 8-3 (3-1) Lake Erie Storm, set to begin at 7 p.m. Then, the Panthers will play host to Hillsdale Saturday at 12 p.m., which is currently 6-3 (3-0), but plays at Findlay on Friday before coming to Columbus.
ODU is coming off a three-set loss to No. 24 Findlay on Tuesday. Freshman Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio) once again led the Panthers in kills, recording 10 more, as she leads the team in the category by a wide margin. Sophomore Ashton Barr (New Castle, Ind.) paced ODU with 18 assists, as she is tallying nearly twice as many assists per set as any teammate this season. On the defensive side, freshman Tate Rybarczyk (Avon Lake, Ohio) added 11 digs, also almost twice as many in that category as any other Panther player.
The team now sits at 2-10 (0-4) and is ninth in hitting percentage in the conference at .174. ODU is also ninth in the G-MAC in assists per set at 10.67 and tenth in kills per set at 11.29.
With her sixth match in double figures in kills in the books, Remmetter has climbed to the fifth in the conference in kills per set with 3.27. Barr is now seventh in the conference in assists per set at 7.00. Rybarczyk has slid down to eight in the GMAC in digs per set, averaging 4.22 digs per set, a still impressive number for the freshman.
Lake Erie College has won three of its last four matches, conference wins over Walsh, Trevecca Nazarene, and Kentucky Wesleyan. Hillsdale is on a three-match winning, with the last two coming against Malone and Cedarville.
