COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team returns home for the first of four straight home matches as the Panthers welcome Findlay and Hillsdale to Alumni Hall this weekend.
The contest against Findlay will start at 7 p.m. Friday and is also Alumni Night, while first serve against Hillsdale will be at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Panthers defeated Alderson Broaddus in three sets in their last match on Saturday. ODU had its best defensive performance of the season, holding the Battlers to an .030 hitting percentage, the lowest by any opponent this fall. ODU, meanwhile, hit .207 in the match, the seventh time this year the Panthers have eclipsed a .200 hitting percentage.
Junior Rebecca Skidmore (Westerville, Ohio) had 10 kills in the win and hit .318, and over the last three matches has a .310 hitting percentage. Freshman Alyssa Hoyng (Celina, Ohio) continued her torrid stretch as she had nine kills while hitting .316. She's hit .316 or better in five of the last six matches and is hitting .347 in that stretch with 60 kills (3.0 per set).
Junior Anna Ficker (Cincinnati, Ohio) had her seventh match with 20 or more digs on Friday against Ohio Valley, notching 21 digs, and now has 335 digs (4.24 per set) on the season. She now has 1,182 career digs.
