Volleyball Heads To Missouri For Second Tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team will participate in its second tournament of the fall, the Middle of Everywhere Classic hosted by Missouri S&T, with two matches on Friday and two more on Saturday.

The Panthers take on Upper Iowa at 12:30 p.m. (CT) and William Jewell at 4:30 p.m. (CT) Friday, then play Washburn at 12 p.m. (CT) on Saturday. Later Saturday, ODU will play an opponent to be determined based on the results of the first three matches of the tournament.

ODU opened its season last weekend at Wayne State, falling in all four matches played in Detroit. Junior Rebecca Skidmore (Westerville, Ohio) had 23 kills and classmates Patricia Barreto (Findlay, Ohio) and Ciara Ralston (Findlay, Ohio) tallied 21 kills, while freshman Alyssa Hoyng (Celina, Ohio) hit .163.

Sophomore Bailey Line (Westerville, Ohio) led ODU with 80 assists, averaging 6.15 per set, and junior Anna Ficker (Cincinnati, Ohio) paced the Panthers with 50 digs (3.85 per set).

Following this weekend's matches, the Panthers will play their home and Great Midwest Athletic Conference opener at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against Cedarville.
