FINDLAY, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team closed its weekend with a 3-1 (17-25, 12-25, 25-15, 16-25) setback at Findlay Saturday in GLIAC action.
The Panthers fell to 10-15 (4-9 GLIAC), while the Oilers improved to 16-9 (7-6 GLIAC).
Sophomore Courtney Braun (Hilliard, Ohio) and freshman Jackie Oestreich (Brighton, Mich.) each had nine kills to lead the ODU offense, while sophomore Kelsey Fortney (Lorain, Ohio) and freshman Heidi Hess (Dayton, Ohio) each notched 15 assists. Freshman Megan Hendershot (Galloway, Ohio) had 14 digs to pace the defense.
ODU had a strong third set on both ends, limiting the Oilers to seven kills and seven errors while piling up 14 kills against just two errors themselves (.480 attack percentage). But the Oilers hit at least .375 in each of the other three sets, while ODU would hit just .121 for the match.
Ohio Dominican returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Tiffin in Alumni Hall.
