AURORA, Ill. – Ohio Dominican dropped its second match of the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament by a 3-0 count Friday night to Drury, falling to 9-13 on the season.
The Panthers hit just .071 for the match, compared to .190 for Drury (12-11).
Sophomore Lauren Kraemer (Kettering, Ohio) led the Panthers with 10 kills and junior Lauren Rindler (Rossburg, Ohio) added six kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Kelsey Fortney (Lorain, Ohio) and freshman Heidi Hess (Dayton, Ohio) each tallied 11 assists while freshman Megan Hendershot (Galloway, Ohio) had 14 digs.
The opening set was tight throughout the early and middle portions, as a kill by Rindler tied the score at 16-16. However, Drury responded with a 6-0 run to take control and pull away with the 25-18 win.
In the second set, ODU jumped to a 6-0 lead behind the serving of Hess, who had three aces. Drury would eventually pull even at 11-11 and led by as much as eight at 20-12 before taking a 25-19 win.
The Panthers had a pair of early leads in the third frame but Drury totaled 17 kills to ODU's seven in the set, taking that one 25-18 as well to seal the match.
ODU (9-13) closes out play at the tournament at 1 p.m. (CT) Saturday against Quincy.
