COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican volleyball coach Sandy Rowley announced the hiring of Jennifer Fekpe as the program's assistant coach and Elisa Joris as the program's graduate assistant.
Fekpe joins ODU after spending the past year as an assistant coach at Iowa Central Community College, where she helped the Tritons place seventh at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, finishing with an overall record of 36-12. She helped train two-time All-American Alicia Moreno, coached another All-American in Gabriella Reyes, and had a total of six players earn all-region accolades following the season.
Fekpe, who played collegiately at nearby Capital University, also has collegiate coaching experience as an assistant at Ashland during the 2011 season, and coached club volleyball with Mintonette Sports and Aleta Aces Volleyball Club.
Joris is no stranger to the GLIAC either as she comes to Ohio Dominican after serving as an assistant with Lake Superior during 2012. Joris played for Wayne State, earning All-American honors in 2005, and was inducted into the Warriors' Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.
Following her playing career, Joris served as an assistant coach at Adrian College before taking over as the program's head coach from 2008-11. She also has experience coaching at the club level, working with the Huron Valley Volleyball Club, Legacy 18 Nationals, Walled Lake Northern, Club Unified 17 and WOW 16 Nationals.
Joris will officially join the Panther coaching staff in August.
Ohio Dominican concluded the 2012 season with a 13-16 record, including a 7-11 mark in GLIAC play. It was the best win total for the Panthers since transitioning from the NAIA in 2010.
