Panthers Look to End Skid, Finish Season on High Note

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican volleyball team is looking to close out the season on a positive note, and end the season with wins, both for their seniors and underclassmen.
The seniors want nothing more to end their career in Alumni Hall in the win column, and a great final weekend could give returning players a great boost heading into the offseason. The Panthers host two matches this weekend, playing Ashland at 7 p.m. on Friday and the Senior Night season finale against Lake Erie at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The 2010 Panther squad has three seniors who will receive pre-game honors on Saturday night. Heather Kunze, Elyse Mongillo and Cassie Vome have been instrumental components of the ODU volleyball team over the past four years, helping the team win 71 total matches.
The Panthers hope that the seniors' significant contributions will guide them this weekend the team looks to snap the current six-match losing streak. The first five losses of the current skid were the end of a nine-game road trip, with the most recent loss being a home contest against Tiffin.
Ashland (16-11, 9-8 GLIAC) is currently in third place in the South Division. The Eagles topped ODU 3-0 in their first meeting this season.
Lake Erie (4-24, 1-16 GLIAC) is the last place team overall in the conference. The Storm are currently on a five-match losing streak. ODU defeated Lake Erie 3-0 when the teams met the first time this season.
THE SERIES
ODU has an all-time record of 0-2 against Ashland and is 7-6 all-time against Lake Erie.
