Track Teams Prep for Black vs. Gold Meet

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's track and field teams will kick off their inaugural season with the First Annual Black vs. Gold Intrasquad Meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at nearby Capital University.

The meet will serve as a precursor for ODU's first full indoor schedule, which begins next Saturday at the Purple and White Invitational at Capital.

"We split the team into the Black and Gold squads this week and they have been competing all week in practices and conditioning," Paul Benedict, head coach, said. "We can shake the cobwebs off and get a sense of where everyone is at."

There is also a lot on the line competitively, as the losing team will have to serve the winners dinner after the meet.

"It's been a good, friendly competition so far," Benedict said. "Everyone is really excited to get the season underway and we're looking forward to our first indoor season."
