Jamiel Scores Late to Push Women's Soccer Over McKendree

LEBANON, Ill. – Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team defeated McKendree in a nonconference match-up by a final score of 1-0 Sunday afternoon in Lebanon, Illinois.

The Panthers advance to 2-0 overall while McKendree drops to 1-1 on the early season.

Freshman Cecilia Kuntz (Berlin, Germany) led the defense for the Panthers earning her first career shutout playing all 90 minutes between the posts stopping both of the two Bearcat shots on goal.

Sophomore Katlyn Jamiel (Wilmington, Ohio) scored the lone goal for the Panthers, the second of her career, and her first game-winner in the 80th minute.

In a scoreless first half, the Panthers outshot the Bearcats 8-3 with the McKendree goalkeeper keeping all seven shots on goal out of the net.

In total, ODU outshot McKendree 13-6 and 10-2 on goal while McKendree had four corners compared to none for the Panthers.

The Panthers will have their home-opener next as Northwood makes the trip to Sunbury Road on Thursday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m.
