COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team defeated Cedarville in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action Saturday under the lights at Panther Stadium behind Lindsey Rentzsch's (Dublin, Ohio) first goal of the year.

The first half saw solid defense from both squads as there were just seven shots the entire half with each team having a corner kick. The Panthers outshot the Jackets 4-3 while Cedarville had three shots on goal to the Panthers two.

The Panthers broke through to find the back of the net in the second half as sophomore Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) found Rentzsch on her corner kick in the 60th minute to put the Panthers up 1-0.

The Panther defense led by senior goalkeeper Marissa Wierzbicki (Powell, Ohio) held the Jacket offense scoreless throughout the 90 minutes as they faced 12 total shots.

Wierzbicki played all 90 minutes between the posts for ODU recording her fourth shutout of the year and 10th of her career with six saves including a breakaway attempt in the 86th minute.

The Panthers were outshot 12-10 in the game but had a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks with the one conversion.

ODU will focus their attention on Ohio Valley as they travel to Vienna, West Virginia on Thursday, October 4 with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
