Women’s Soccer Welcomes Ursuline, Lake Erie For Conference Matches

COLUMBUS, Ohio — With three wins in its last four matches, Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team will host Ursuline and Lake Erie this week at Panther Stadium in Great Midwest Athletic Conference matches.

The Panthers (3-2, 1-0 G-MAC) will face Ursuline on Thursday night at 7 p.m. and will host Lake Erie on Saturday at 12 p.m.

About Ohio Dominican

ODU defeated Findlay in its first Great Midwest match last week by way of a 1-0 shutout and earned a 4-2 road victory at Northwood on Sunday to move up to sixth in the latest Midwest regional rankings from the United Soccer Coaches.

The Panthers enter Thursday's match against Ursuline with a goals allowed average of 1.00 and have held opponents to just 0.33 goals per contest at Panther Stadium in 2017. Sophomore defender Cheyenne Story (Canfield, Ohio) was honored Tuesday with Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Week honors after assisting in anchoring the defensive effort for the Panthers and recording her first career goal and assist at Northwood Sunday.

Ohio Dominican is led offensively through five matches by senior Alli Pavlik (Cortland, Ohio), who leads the Great Midwest in shots (18) and game winning goals (two) while also ranking second in the conference in goals scored (three).

Junior Jenna Fodor (Hilliard, Ohio) and freshman Ci'ara Crosby (Ashland, Ohio) notched their first career goals in the win over Northwood Sunday, while junior Allie Atkinson (Ontario, Ohio) and senior Lauren Bates (Hilliard, Ohio) have also found the back of the net this season for ODU.

About Ursuline

The Arrows (1-1-1, 1-0-0 G-MAC) defeated Lake Erie 2-0 in their first Great Midwest match and are coming off a 2-1 loss to Clarion in their latest contest.

Ursuline has allowed five goals in three matches and ranks second in the Great Midwest behind Ohio Dominican in corner kicks (19).

Steph Chlad leads the Arrows offensively with two goals on eight shots on goal. Freshman Gina Cerny anchors the keeper position for Ursuline and has notched 16 saves in 290 minutes.

About Lake Erie

The Storm (1-3, 0-1 G-MAC) defeated Carlow 1-0 in its most recent match and will head to Findlay before making the trip to Sunbury Road on Saturday.

Lake Erie goalkeeper Marissa Brannon ranks third in the conference in saves with 28 stops on the season.

ODU defeated Lake Erie 2-0 a season ago at Panther Stadium.
